What inspired Pawfect Bakery?
Pawfect Bakery was inspired by Whisky's 1st birthday. Of course birthdays call for cake, so I took on the challenge of baking my first dog cake! I quickly learned that baking for dogs is much different than baking for humans. I enjoyed every moment of the process from crafting the cake recipe all the way to watching Whisky joyfully devour it with some of his dog friends. I wanted to share this experience with other dog owners and create those special treats that bring so much excitement & tail wags to our dogs. Cakes quickly turned into specialty treats like our donuts & frosted cookies, then we created a simple treat suitable for everyday enjoyment. We pride ourselves most in creating delicious and nutritious goodies for your dogs. We use only the highest quality human-grade ingredients for our treats. They are all gluten-free, vegan & safe for your dog. We do not use any preservatives and keep our ingredients list to a minimum, compared to large commercial brands that often contain a plethora of ingredients & ones that are difficult to pronounce. Our recipes are crafted to be easily digestible and hypoallergenic. We encourage you to read the labels of everything you feed your dog. They deserve the best! & you deserve peace of mind knowing exactly whats in our treats. Thats why we're passionate about what we do.
If you are looking to celebrate your dog, whether it’s a birthday, gotcha day or just because, we're here to help make your celebration extra special. All of our treats are baked to order. That means you get the freshest treats possible for your dog. Our treat boxes make fun gifts /party favors that can be directly delivered to your door.
What is Carob?
Carob is a dog-safe alternative to chocolate. Carob looks exactly like chocolate, but it is free of the allergenic & addictive effects of caffeine & contains much less fat. Carob is free of theobromine which is the active ingredient in chocolate which makes it toxic to dogs.
Where are you located/ Where do your treats come from?
A: All of our products are lovingly baked to order in Aventura, FL & shipped right to your door. We do have a select number of products located at a retail location in Hollywood, FL. A limited quantity of products are available daily at Zalie Cakes Bakeshop 2029 Harrison St. Hollywood, FL, 33020. Local pickup options are available at Zalie Cakes. Please be advised we will be relocating to the Dallas Fort-Worth area in the upcoming new year 2023.
I live in Miami-Dade/Broward can I pick up my order?
A: Yes, you can! Email us info@pawfectbakery.co ahead of time and we can coordinate a pickup at Zalie Cakes.
Do you use preservatives & are all the ingredients safe for dogs?
A:
Our treats are preservative-free. They are baked with the highest quality, human grade and natural ingredients. We do not use any low grade fillers such as wheat or corn. All of our dog treats are baked fresh using wholesome ingredients with no preservatives, additives or salt. We use the finest quality baking ingredients, using only ingredients that are safe for your pet including treat decorations made with all natural dyes and sprinkles. In order to preserve the treats, after baking they are slowly dehydrated taking out most of the moisture to extend the shelf-life of the products.
Will your treats melt?
A: Frosted treats can melt if placed in a hot environment. Store frosted treats in a cool area in an air tight container to preserve the treats & prevent melting. During Summer months it is advised to let the treats open to air as tight closed containers can harbor moisture.
How can I prolong the shelf-life of your products since they are preservative-free?
A: The refrigerator is the best way to prolong the shelf-life of our products. Make sure to store them in an air tight container to prevent the products from drying out. Our non frosted treats freeze great. Place the biscuit bags in the freezer and serve biscuits as desired to maintain freshness. It is not advised to freeze frosted treats as this will compromise the aesthetic.
How long do your products last/
What if I have leftovers?
Our biscuits are packaged in re-sealable recyclable bags and will last up to 1 month if not placed in the freezer. Biscuits can last up to 3-4 months when placed in the freezer or in a cool & dry area. Donuts are shelf stable up 2-3 weeks, it all depends on your storage conditions. Place treats in the refrigerator to extend the shelf-life up to 2 months. Our products freeze very well. Placing them in the freezer is a great method to save treats for later. (This excludes frosted treats & cakes)
Our cakes have a much shorter shelf life. They should be fed upon receiving within ONE WEEK.
What is an appropriate serving portion to give to my dogs?
A: We recommend you start with smaller portions when giving these treats to your dog for the first time as to not upset their stomach. All of our treats are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding. Always supervise dogs when feeding them treats, especially for puppies.
Serving size varies based on the size, exercise level, and health condition of your dog. We encourage you to speak with your veterinarian regarding recommended daily servings. Please note that treats should always be used as a snack or reward and never as a meal replacement. Always remember to provide plenty of fresh water and monitor your dog while treating.
***For the safety of your dog, observation is recommended when giving dog treats
My dog has allergies/special dietary needs, can you make custom treats excluding certain ingredients?
A: We recommend running any treats by your vet; they will be better equipped to make decisions based on your dog's particular diet and we would not want to give you guidance without the expertise your question deserves. For your convenience, the ingredients of each treat are listed on its product page & labeled on the packaging so you can provide your vet with this info and make the best decision for your dog collectively.
My dog/I am allergic to peanut butter, can you ensure there are no traces of peanut butter in your products?
A: Unfortunately, we use 100% organic peanut butter in the majority of our products. Although, not every product contains peanut butter, we cannot guarantee there are no traces of peanut butter in our products. For your safety, we recommend not purchasing our products if you or your dog has a peanut allergy.
Can I eat my dog’s treats?
Everything we bake is made with human grade ingredients and while you absolutely could consume them, we don’t recommend it. Our treats are made to suit the tastes of your dog. This means they aren't sweet and you may find the flavors and textures less than appetizing.
Why do my treats look different than the photos online?
A: All bakery items are handmade and may vary slightly from what is pictured. Every item is hand crafted and because our items are not made in a factory, it leaves room for a margin of difference in shapes and sizes. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors, sizes and images of our products that appear in the photos. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any color will be accurate. Please keep in mind our colors are derived from plant extracts, so the colors will not be as vivid and bright as artificial dye colors. Our colors will be more pastel, cream and light in color.
Pawfect Bakery treats are made with all-natural, Non-GMO ingredients. We never use artificial colors or bleached ingredients to control the exact color of our treats. This means you may see a color variation in our treats from time to time. For example, our grains can be lighter or darker in color depending on the time of harvest or the geography of the farm here in the USA. This is completely normal and in no way should affect the taste and quality of the treats.
Where do you source your ingredients from?
A: We source all of our ingredients from the USA. When possible we love to source local ingredients and support our local small businesses.
What is guaranteed analysis?
GA is the nutrient contents of a product. GA analyzes the composition of an item by taking the basic nutrition and categorizing the components into four basic categories: fat, protein, fiber & moisture. We use two different laboratories for our GA. Midwest Laboratories & Barrow-Agee Laboratories LLC.
What is your return policy/What if my dog doesn't like the treats?
A: Unfortunately, we do not accept any returns. Occasionally some dogs can be very finicky, in these instances we do not allow refunds because of your pets flavor palate. We can assure you that they contain high quality & delicious ingredients.
My biscuits/cookies arrived broken, can you send me a new package?
A: We take extra care when packaging baked treats, but we can't guarantee that the courier won't toss them around. Broken cookies are unable to be refunded or replaced.
